„Call it a cause, call it a mission: whatever it is, Eric Bibb is most certainly on it!” - Dixie Frog
This album (just as the title says) is dedicated to the „Blues People”: African Americans who are still struggling with inequality and prejustice. It's also not lost on Bibb that most conflicts are still driven by issues like this.
I hope that you didn't expect depressing record because if you did you are going to be dissapointed. The driving theme is Dr Martin Luther King Jr's famus speech: „I have a dream” and Eric most diviously shares this dream.
Great opening track: „Sliver Spoon” references Bibbs own beginnings in life as a musician. This song shows the great impact all blues pioneers ( Robert Johnson, Son House, Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf) had on Bibb prehaps- punctuated by soulful electric work from Popa Chubby.

„Turner Stations” is a perfect example of how he takes his influances and traglitions of old blues masters and has the courage to evolve this sounds into something new and fresh. The driving force remains his own voice and acoustic guitar, however fanstastic electric guitar, powerful bass, drums, elements of world percussion and original texture makes it a definite album of the week!
In stylistic terms, this record is very diverse. From „Out Walking” (just Eric and his guitar) to more complex full band arragments in songs like „Remember The Ones” .
Stand out track: „Turner Station”
