The Underground: Peter James

"I have been living in Sligo for 7 years now. The last band I put together was The Katonahs which people will know of. I have been playing as a two piece with a keyboard player , John O Dea for the last few months, in Tricky's Mc Garrigles, Fureys Pub, and Joe Grogan Hargadons. Our next outing is in The Swagman on thursday 26th Feb at 10pm. My songs are about emotion, pain and passion and how to deal with everyday ups and downs. I have over 100 songs that I have written over the last 10 years. The long term plan is to record my first solo album, hopefully using some local musicians around Sligo. I am mainly influenced by:

-The Doors

-U2

-Coldplay

-Blues

-Simon and Garfunkel

-Tom Petty

-The Rolling Stones.

I use high energy Performance at live shows and have been told I commit 100 percent to a song when singing it which makes it more engaging for the audience."
