This record reminded me of Jimi Hendrix and Rory Gallaghers raw blues playing. Their debut album brings us all famous blues/rock sounds that we all love . It is also an amazing showcase of CBC's great playing abilities and excellet songwirting skills.Tracks on this album are not crazy psychodelic stoner jams but great rock n roll songs. Memorable chorus and houting verses with company of sour lead guitar in 'White Ligthning' are as close to perfection as they possibly could have been. Slightly slower but utterly steeped in blues sounds,'Skin Deep' is the best example to show breath taking vocal style of Christy O'Hanlon that is deeply drenched in emotions. Other tracks like 'Pourin Down', 'Electric Soup' or 'Murmuration' fallow simmilar path and show great influance that Jaco Pastorius had on Steven McGrath and excellent drum foundation provided by Gev Barrett.
This was an unbielivble journey! From White Lightning to ‘John the Revelator’ that is a well known song in blues aficionado If you had not noticed already you definitely should now. This trio is a beast with their instruments in hands! But is the album good? Hell Yes! The sound is incomparable with any other blues bands.
