Story of Sex pistols and their influence seems to be unbelievable. How did this complete morons managed to make a musical earthquake? How did they changed way of thinking of thousands of people with just one album? It is not hard for everybody to hate them, but God! They were part of biggest cultural revolution in the second half of twentieth century.
Band started in 1975. In their first incarnation band included singer Johnny Rotted ,lead guitarist Steve Jones, drummer Paul Cook and bass player Glen Matlock. Later replaced by Sid Viscious.
During Queens Elizabeth II's Silver Jubilee, Sex Pistols released their second single 'God save the Queen”. This record's lyrics as well as a cover were really controversial at the time. Most stations like BBC or Indepentend Broadcasting Authority refused to play it.
Tours were often announced and canceled. In one case because Rotten was badly beaten up by angry royalists. On Christmass Day in 1977 Sex Pistols played concert in Britans Yorkshire that was the opening of their U.S. Tour. They played in front of an audience that was mainly made of young teenagers. There was no big chance for the tour to pass without accident. On the last concert Sid was in drug disintegration, John said that he was hating it,the rest of the band didnt seem to like it either. Six months earlier John said „ As soon as it will get really boring is when I'm going to fucking stop.”
After the tour everybody went of doing their own things and no longer cared about phenomenon called Sex Pistols. John Rotten reverted to Lydon and formed PiL, Cook and Jones created 'The Profesionals' . On 2nd February Sid Vicious died. His sudden death did not suprise anybody.
